Brown University Rockefeller Library
Providence, RI
Brown University's Rockefeller Library has long been a landmark of Brutalist architecture. But while the exterior remained iconic, the interior had fallen behind the needs of the students who used it every day.
We reimagined the space as a light-filled environment for studying, researching, collaborating, and lingering. New ceilings, flooring, lighting, furnishings, and open meeting areas replaced a dark and dated interior, creating spaces that feel both purposeful and inviting.
The result is a quieter, brighter, more human experience—one that respects the building's architectural character while bringing it firmly into the present.
Brutalist bones. A distinctly human experience.
