Principal and Creative Director

Kelly Taylor brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of architecture and interior design. After honing her craft in New York and Providence architecture firms, she launched KTID in 2004 to do what she does best: guide clients through the complexity of design with clarity, rigor, and just enough wit to make the process enjoyable.

Her work and leadership have been widely recognized—named one of New England Home’s “5 Under 40” talents and a Providence Business News “Industry Leader in Creative Services.” Beyond her practice, Kelly co-founded DesignxRI, a nonprofit dedicated to growing Rhode Island’s design economy, and is a committed advocate for sustainability and community impact.

Kelly holds degrees in Interior Design (Parsons School of Design), English (College of Charleston), and a Master of Sustainable Design (Boston Architectural College). She is NCIDQ-certified, a LEED Green Associate, and an active member of IIDA, ASID and IFDA.

Interior Designer and Project Manager

Julia brings a layered design perspective shaped by both architecture and interiors. She earned her BFA in Architecture and Design from UMass Amherst and completed a certificate in Interior Design from RISD, building a strong foundation in spatial planning, materiality, and detail.

At Rocksalt Studio, Julia is known for her balance of creativity and precision. A thoughtful designer and highly organized project manager, she excels at translating big ideas into clear documentation and beautifully executed results. Her experience with a boutique design firm on Aquidneck Island and as a designer at West Elm sharpened both her technical expertise and her instinct for livable, well-composed spaces. She has also contributed to the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals, helping design backstage environments for artists and VIP guests.

Outside the studio, Julia can be found hiking with her German shepherd, Echo or on her boat, soaking up the New England summer.

Assistant Designer

Madison earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the New England Institute of Technology, where she served as President of the Interior Design Association and distinguished herself as both a leader and collaborator. She brings to Rocksalt Studio a disciplined, focused approach and a natural sense of momentum that strengthens the team’s daily workflow.

As a design assistant, Madison supports projects across sourcing, documentation, and coordination, ensuring that ideas are executed with clarity and organization. Her background as a three-time bodybuilding competitor reflects the resilience, structure, and commitment she applies to her professional work — qualities that quietly elevate the studio’s standards.

Known for her initiative and steady presence, Madison approaches each task with intention and follow-through. Outside the studio, she recharges at the gym, at the beach, or spending time with friends.

Office Administrator

Caitlin holds a BS in Accounting from Johnson & Wales University and began her career running her own bookkeeping business, helping family-owned companies streamline operations and grow with confidence. She brings that same financial acumen and strategic organization to Rocksalt Studio, where her meticulous approach ensures projects and studio operations run seamlessly.

Caitlin’s attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and calm, steady presence make her an indispensable part of the team, supporting designers and leadership alike while maintaining clarity and order behind the scenes.

Outside the office, she recharges in the outdoors, whether hiking, fishing, or tending her garden, and treasures time with her family — a grounding counterpoint to the fast pace of studio life.

Office Licker and Hugger

Jackson joined Rocksalt Studio at just eight weeks old and quickly established himself as the true heart of the office. Equal parts sweet, social, and shameless attention-seeker, he keeps the team on their toes while maintaining a rigorous napping schedule. His main duties include welcoming clients, greeting UPS drivers and sales reps, and supervising the studio with an ever-watchful eye (he’s convinced everyone is there just to see him).

Known for his boundless charm and uncanny ability to sense when a cuddle is needed, Jackson reminds everyone that even in the midst of deadlines and project pressure, there’s always room for joy, comfort, and a well-timed hug. He is, without question, the studio’s most loyal team member.
