Coastal Modern

This 3,000-square-foot home on Rhode Island's southern coast was designed by DiMauro Architects to settle naturally into its coastal surroundings. The owners had a different vision for the inside: modern, uncluttered, and respectful of the views without leaning on the expected. They handed the entire interior to Rocksalt.

From the first wall in to the last detail, we designed it all: a modern monolithic fireplace with fully custom surround and millwork, a wood-and-glass staircase with illuminated treads, a custom kitchen, dramatic bathrooms, a custom laundry and mudroom, and a primary suite that earns the view it wakes up to.

Our charge was to find the finishes, colors, and textures that let the ocean do the talking — coastal in spirit, never in cliché.

Where architecture meets the coast, the interior should feel inevitable.
