With this 1853 home, our charge was to modernize function while preserving the character and charm of these historic bones. Bathrooms were reimagined as fresh, serene retreats, blending modern functionality with a timeless design approach that feels seamlessly connected to the past. And the lower level was transformed from a dingy basement to a moody colonial-style tavern.

Throughout the project, a balance of refined materials and classic details creates spaces that feel both sophisticated and inviting. A rich palette of deep blues and greens, warm wood tones and brass fixtures introduces a sense of elegance without adding too much fuss for real life.

By carefully layering contemporary updates with elements that complement the home's original character, we followed the homeowner’s wish to make everything we touched feel like a better version of its original.
