Welcome to Rocksalt Studio—nearly a year in the making and long in the works—well, here we are.
If you’ve worked with us, followed us, or simply clicked here because the name caught your eye, welcome. We are Rocksalt Studio and we’re glad you’re here.
The name is new. The work is not.
WHO WE ARE
We are the same team you’ve always known. The same designers, the same relentless eye for detail, the same rigor.
For twenty-two years, our firm carried a single name. And for a while, that fit. But the work outgrew it. Kelly Taylor Interior Design made perfect sense in 2004 when we first launched. However, we haven’t been a solo act for quite some time. What began as one perspective is now many—designers and partners shaping, sourcing, drafting, detailing, and managing every project with an uncompromising standard.
I’m still here as Creative Director (Design Editor-in-Chief, if you will), but the work has always been a collective studio effort — an important detail we feel our new name drives home.
This has long been a studio-in-practice. Now, it’s one in name.
BUT, WHY ROCKSALT?
Naming a company turns out to be no small exercise. We approached the process the way we would any project: starting with the fundamentals. Who are we? What do we value? What actually makes our work different? We approached the naming process—alongside the talented team at Avec—the same way we approach design: strip it down, test it, hold on to only what’s true. We landed here:
Beauty is found in the tension between raw and refined. Like rock salt, our work is
grounded but never stuck. Sharp, but not brittle. Solid in a way that doesn't just
look good—it holds up. We don't chase trends or fluff things up. We work with
what's essential, carve out what's not, and shape spaces that stand the test of
time (and taste).
Rocksalt is structure with soul. Strength with style.
Design that’s built to last. And made to live in.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US
The Strata is how we’ll stay connected, and we promise it will be worth opening. Expect the behind-the-scenes work that never makes it to a mood board, opinions we’re not afraid to have, projects we’re genuinely excited about, and the occasional reminder that good design doesn’t have to be precious. We design for people, not portfolios. Our process starts at the center of you and the reality of how you actually live. If that sounds like your kind of studio, you’re in the right place.
