When the new owner of this beautiful Blackstone Boulevard home came to us, he brought two non-negotiables: keep the blood-red faux-painted walls and lean hard into brass. Neither would have been our first instinct — and that was exactly the point.

Working from an existing sofa and a single brass floor lamp, we built a palette around a bold rug that set the tone for everything that followed. Dark woods, crisp creams, deep reds, and brass in both polished and satin finishes delivered the contrast and layering we always chase. Ralph Lauren lounge chairs, classic ottomans, linen drapery and the owner's own art collection brought it all home, and the relationship continued through several guest rooms beyond.

The result is a space that feels distinctively his: traditional in its bones, contemporary in its details and elegant enough for the gatherings he loves to host.
